Galina Xanthopoulou

Professor Galina Xanthopoulou (PhD, DSc) works at the National Center of Scientific Research “Demokritos” (Advanced Ceramics Laboratory, Institute of Materials Science) in Athens, Greece, as a Senior Research Scientist in Heterogeneous Catalysis  – Combustion Synthesis of Materials (Self-Propagating High Temperature Synthesis - SHS)  and as academic supervisor of under-graduate and graduate students.
She is the author of more than 250 publications and has 36 patents on catalysis, combustion processes in solid phase, ceramic materials and the environment.
She is a member of editorial boards of several international journals and a Consultant to the European Commission.

She served as advisor for more than 100 graduate, master degree, PhD and post-doctoral students.
